Growing up we all establish traditions with the people that we love, whether it's for a holiday, a weekly family activity, or a cultural tradition— they are something established very early on and are forever held close to our hearts! Here at EM, our AAPI team members all have very special beauty traditions that they want to share with the community! Be sure to comment your favorite tradition down below.

“One of my favorite beauty traditions is wearing an ao dai during Lunar New Year. Ao dai translates to long shirt. It’s considered a symbol of the beauty of the Vietnamese women.”

"My fondest beauty memory growing up was watching my mom apply her red revlon lipstick. It was her signature look and I still remember it's distinct scent! I used to sneak in her purse to use it because I wanted to be just like her. Till this day, red lipstick is one of my favorite beauty products. It's universally flattering and instantly brightens my mood!"
MARY, VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
JAPANESE
"I grew up watching my mom applying layers and layers of hydration on her face, from morning until night. That habit’s rubbed off on me so I never go a day without a hydrating essence as my first skincare step. When I have a few extra minutes I’ll even keep applying a second and third time…until my skin can’t absorb any more!"
CRYSTAL, CREATIVE AND PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

"When I was younger my mother was against me wearing makeup because she said it would be bad for my skin, and at the time I had really bad acne prone skin. Therefore, I rarely use foundation but concealer or bb creams instead. That way I wasn't applying too much makeup that could irritate my skin, but rather keep a natural look to my complexion. Fast forward to today, EM Cosmetics Daydream Cushion is my everyday essential that doesn’t irritate my skin but still gives me a seamless, natural, even skin like appearance. “
